Tannat is a stunning grape, originating from the South of France, that flourishes at Starfield. Our 2022 Tannat represents the varietal fabulously, with remarkably pure notes of blueberry jam, clove, and fresh-cut violets. Aromas of sweet pipe tobacco, smoked meats, tea tree, and rosemary add depth and interest to this bold wine. The palate is like walking through a vineyard during harvest. Dusty tannins set the scene and are present from inception to finish, followed by deep notes of black currant, black tea, dried cherry, and persimmon. This is a fantastic food wine, and a delight to drink. It is also a contender for the cellar, as this wine will continue to evolve for years to come.
