Starfield Vineyards

Accolades & Awards

“I make wine that my wife, Sarah, and I love to drink. Nevertheless, I’m grateful when the Press recognizes our wines. It’s a testament to our amazing Sierra Highlands wine region, and to the incredible Starfield Vineyard.” — Rob Sinton

2019 The Miner’s Inch

Overall, this is a well-balanced, engaging very good quality red blend. It features flavors of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, dried wood, vanilla, cinnamon, star anise, and just a hint of (pleasant) barnyard funk. - Stacy Briscoe, Wine Enthusiast

2023 Marsanne

As good as Marsanne can be in regions outside of France’s Northern Rhöne Valley, one wonders why more of it isn’t planted in many more places. This seems as savory and mineral as it does fruity, with melon and orchard fruit notes as well as a pleasant hint of citrus rind bitterness that balances out the wine’s fruity (not sugary) sweetness. Delicious on its own, this seems even more promising as a partner for food, including moder- ately assertive preparations of fish or chicken. - Michael Franz, Critic’s Challenge

2022 Viognier

Subtle nuances are the name of this Viognier’s game. A plethora of aromas and flavors are finely layered and integrated throughout the length of the tasting. Notes suggest lemon, lime, white blossom, wet stone, flint, lanolin, beeswax, just-ripe white peach, nectarine, apricot and mandarin orange zest. Slightly elevated alcohol uplifts the body and mouthfeel and is well balanced by generous acidity and a touch of texture. - Stacy Briscoe, Wine Enthusiast
