Tasting Notes

The 2022 Jacks Are Wild is a bold and structured red blend, capturing the essence of the Sierra Highlands with its rich, layered complexity. Aromas of caramelized fig, brambly blackberry, and milk chocolate are supported by floral hints of hibiscus and violet, while subtle notes of thyme, oregano, and earthy soil add depth. The bouquet also reveals touches of French vanilla and black pepper, evoking the warmth of a summer garden.

On the palate, dark fruits such as blackberry, black currant, and black cherry are intertwined with flavors of quince, fig, and a touch of smokey bacon. Vanilla, clove, and Sierra Spice lend warmth to the finish, which is framed by a velvety layer of polished tannins. This wine is both powerful and elegant, offering a luxurious mouthfeel and impeccable balance. Enjoy now with a brief decant or cellar for the next 10 to 15 years.

The Jacks Are Wild name celebrates Tom's family heritage and the Jack family's legendary fall barbeques! Each fall on the family cattle ranch, they would celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors who helped make it a success! On any farm, be it cattle, grapes, or other agriculture, it takes a village to bring it all in. We invite you to savor this wine and to celebrate your own 'roundup' with your loved ones.
