The 2022 vintage of Grenache is fresh, floral, & contains a surprising depth of red and black fruits. It opens with a powerful bouquet, rich with rose petal, mountain lilac, & fresh tobacco leaf, accented by spicy notes of nutmeg & white pepper. The palate is just as lush as the nose, but with moderate weight and great energy. A broad entry of classic notes of dried strawberry, freshly picked blueberry, & ripe mulberry, underscored by earthy notes of ground clove, tarragon, & toasted oak. Taut, dusty tannins weave in and out of the concentrated fruit flavors, leading to a long, lingering finish. This is a perfect dinner wine & is drinking quite well now but will continue to age & evolve until 2030.
