This classic Pinot Noir is sourced from Gap's Crown Vineyard, which is located at the base of Sonoma Mountain in the Petaluma Gap AVA. This amazing AVA is defined by its unique micro-climate and terroir that produces elegant, well-rounded grapes with distinct character. Its cool, foggy climate produces wines with high acidity, nuanced fruit flavors, and a distinctive, coastal minerality that is unparalleled. This is a must have for Pinot lovers!
The 2021 Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir is an aromatic and captivating wine with delicate fruit, subtle earthiness, and super silky tannins coming together to create a delicious wine. Nostalgic aromas of coastal breezes and sea cliffs draw you in, while the bouquet of wild raspberry, elderberry liqueur, clementine and freshly pulled saltwater taffy integrate seamlessly with savory undertones of green tea, sage, and dried oregano. The palate entices with bright red fruit, loaded with pomegranate, ripe strawberry, and Rainier cherry. An earthy core of tobacco leaf, toasty oak, and fresh bay leaf adds depth and dimension. The finish is marked by plush tannins and just a hint of salt kissed slate. This Pinot embodies the grace and elegance of a red Burgundy, with the boldness of a California wine that is undoubtedly due to the remarkable terroir.
